Which Regular Foods are Actually Superfoods

We do not know that some of the regular Indian foods that are actually superfoods. This is our misconception that superfoods are only exotic and foreign-based. Here are some of the superfoods that are not only tasty but healthy too.

1. Beetroot
Beetroots are loaded with betaine and folate. These two nutrients reduce the risk of heart diseases. Moreover, it has an enormous amount of potassium, magnesium, iron, vitamins A, B6 and C, folic acid, carbohydrates, protein, antioxidants and soluble fibre. So, make your kitchen loaded with beetroots and use this to your regular diet.

2. Cabbage
Cabbage has an excellent amount of sulforaphane which is a chemical that increases the production of the enzymes that disappears cell-damaging, cancer-causing free radicals. Moreover, it has manganese, dietary fibre, potassium, vitamin B1, folate and copper in a huge amount.

3. Guava
Guava has a higher concentration of the cancer-fighting antioxidant. It has more lycopene than tomatoes and watermelons. Hence, you can consider guava to be the best sources of the protective red pigment. Although the red pigment is less observed in guava, still the benefits are no less than any other red veggies.

4. Goji Berries
This fruit has the capability of reducing the insulin resistance in our body and prevents our body from developing diabetes. To consume this, you can mix some berries with a bowl of plain yoghurt or some of the oats. This concoction can be great for your health during winters especially.
