5 foods to Prevent Muscle Cramps

If you exercise daily, then you must have experienced a stretch and pain in your muscles. The muscles which are tired and weak stretch more. This occurs due to less conditioning, adequate nutrition or genetic sensitivity, etc. Though the stretch in the muscles corrects itself in fewer minutes. It can even be mended with the help of a massage or stretching the affected area. Besides this, one must eat certain food products which help to reduce the stretch in muscles such as:

1. Sweet potato
A riped sweet potato has 542 grams of potassium in it, which is 12 percent the part of your daily requirement. Potassium helps in the growth of the muscles. You can bake it or roast it, to consume it.

2. Banana
A banana is a good source of potassium. It even contains calcium and magnesium too which helps to reduce the stretch in your muscles.

3. Nuts and seeds
They help to reduce pain and stiffness in the muscles. 20 grams of almonds provide 20 percent of the daily potassium requirement. Other nuts and seeds have calcium and magnesium in a good amount. Thus, one must consume a handful of nuts and seeds daily.

4. Tomatoes
Besides potassium, the tomato has a good amount of water too. Consuming 1 cup juice of tomatoes helps to fulfill the daily need of 15 percent of potassium. This helps to keep the body hydrated and also reduce stretch in the muscles.

5. Eggs
The amount of protein in the eggs is relatively good. It contains the amino acid, antioxidants, leucine, etc. that helps to build muscles. Consumption of eggs reduces inflammation and pain in the body.
