Mouth Ulcers are normally painful lesions that happen in your mouth, under your lips, or at the base of your tender gums.

This makes it very important to understand simple 4 kitchen secrets which can help you treat mouth ulcers:

1. Coconut Oil:
Being an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent in it, coconut oil can help slowly reduce the swelling and the pain associated with the ulcer. Take dry clean cotton, soak it in the plain coconut oil and place it gradually on the sores and let it remain there for the whole night.

2. Salt Water:
One of the simplest and the best remedy is salt water gargling. Saltwater acts as an osmotic agent and helps to cleanse and support healing by a process called osmosis. Sodium chloride takes away all the water from the cells and moves them out of the body when gargled.

This helps to even remove harmful bacteria from the mouth, leaving the ulcer clean. Take 1 tablespoon of saltwater in lukewarm water and gargle it twice a day.

3. Tulsi Leaves:
Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil and has many health benefits. Tulsi has an anti-bacterial property and this activity can act as an effective oral disinfectant for killing germs inside your mouth.

This can help relieve the symptoms of mouth ulcers. It also reduces the acidic environment inside the mouth hand thus reduces the damage caused by the acid. Chew 5 - 6 clean and fresh tulsi leaves in the morning and drink water over them.

4. Honey:
Every house will have honey in the kitchen. It is used for many purposes - morning drink, for breakfast, for medication etc. For ages, honey has been part of our daily life because of its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Honey is significantly effective in reducing the size, pain, and soreness of mouth ulcers. Apply little honey daily on the affected area 3 to 4 times a day.
